I have debt and it sucks. So to keep myself accountable and help get us out of debt I am posting my progress to pay it off here.
As of today: 1/17/2012
- Paid off $337.73 to HSBC. Card will be closed but it's out of my way.
This still leaves close to $73k in debt but every little bit helps. How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time?
As of today 1/1/2012- this is what I owe in loans, credit cards and student loan.
This sucks, why? Because that is a small house.
As of today this is what I owe to my home and trailer that I rent out. Good thing my rental is pretty much a wash.
So as you see I am in a sheep load of debt. It definitely sucks but I'm working my way out of it one shovel of debt at a time. Next week I will be paying off one of the credit cards so that payment will roll into the other card. I'm pretty excited cause that means my debt will be paid off faster than I expected. I'm hoping I can take my bonus for this quarter and roll into that same debt. Once I get the large credit card out of the way, that payment will than roll into our truck. I will then use those payments to pay the student loan. I'm using Dave Ramsey's "snowball" strategy to get this paid off. And if I can help it I will not get myself into debt ever ever again, well except for a possible car loan and mortgage. If we can't pay for it we will not buy it.
